Finnish grindcore legend Rotten Sound brought its gutting buzzsaw sound to Vancouver on Friday, decimating an emphatic crowd and leaving a wet red smear of bloody, beer-drenched chunks in their wake.

With solid local support from Prince George’s grinning Northern Steel, Gross Misconduct and Crackwhore (featuring the blistering rapid-fire percussive assault of skinsman Bitchslapper on drums and vocalist Regurgitator’s cavernous eructations), the show at Funky Winkerbeans was a complete auditory apocalypse.
