Bathed in the Red Door’s glow – Blind Guardian at The Commodore Ballroom

Despite an epic set by Blind Guardian and a high-voltage start to the evening courtesy of Grave Digger, the real star performance of this show came from the fans in attendance at The Commodore last Monday evening: this reviewer has never seen a crowd so energized and completely engrossed in a concert experience, singing along and chanting for more at every pause, to the extent that the band itself simply stood back and marvelled at the enthusiasm. Horns-up and hats-off to you, Vancouver!
