Usually it takes more than three bands to make a great show, but three was more than enough for Unleash the Archers’ CD release bash to tear the roof off of The Red Room last Saturday. With high-energy sets from start to finish and three of the best frontpeople to keep the audience engaged throughout, not a minute of stage time was wasted during the relatively compressed event, which ended at 11 p.m. Also celebrating the launch of a new album, The Order of Chaos raised the bar for opening performances, playing their set like it was the last concert in history, and Pyramidion followed suit with the most impressive death metal one has witnessed in Vancouver, period. That said, Unleash the Archers fired volley after volley of incendiary tracks to showcase new disc Time Stands Still, and our compliments to whoever played Iron Maiden’s “Aces High” on the P.A. at show’s end – Maiden themselves could set the bar no higher.
